Historical Village of Hokkaido

An open-air museum that recreates the atmosphere
of Hokkaido a century ago

Historic structures built in Hokkaido in the Showa to Meiji eras have been relocated to the village. A horse tram is available in summer (270 yen), and you can go on a free guided tour.

Sapporo Art Park

Hoheikyo Dam

The spectacular sight of a beautiful concrete arch dam and rough, bare rock

The dam is 102.5 m high. Seen from the electric bus, the landscape features Lake Jozan, whose reservoir holds enough water to fill Sapporo Dome 30 times, and rock outcrops.

Takino Suzuran Hillside Park

The only park in Hokkaido that’s operated by the national government. This national park features seasonal flowers, nature and various activities.

People of all ages, from children to adults, can enjoy looking at different flowers that bloom in different seasons and playing on various outdoor playground equipment. In winter, the park transforms into a snowy world of tubing.
