Munich Christmas Market in Sapporo began in 2002, the 30th anniversary of sister-city affiliation between the City of Sapporo and the City of Munich. The first event was held so that Sapporo citizens could know more about Munich. During the event, the venue at Odori Park is illuminated in white and enveloped in a Christmassy mood. Now in its 12th year, the event promises a romantic Christmas experience.
